UPDATE: Auburn police seeking information on missing man

AUBURN, Ala. – On July 8, 2025, Auburn Police responded to the 2500 block of East University Drive in reference to a deceased person. Upon arrival on scene, officers discovered a body in an advanced stage of decomposition located inside of an abandoned structure.
Officials located property at the scene belonging to Julian Edward "Eddie" Nichols III, a person reported missing on June 10, 2025. A death investigation is underway, and investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine the identity. There is no evidence to suggest criminal activity or a present threat to the community.

June 25, 2025:
AUBURN, Ala. – On June 10, 2025, Auburn Police received a report in reference to a missing 50-year-old male. A complainant met with officers and reported that Julian Edward Nichols III had not been seen or heard from since May 30.
Nichols is described as a white male, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 210 pounds. He goes by “Eddie”, and his primary vehicle is a black, early 2000’s Dodge truck. Auburn Police detectives are actively investigating all avenues that may lead to Nichols’ location.
The investigation regarding Nichols’ current location is ongoing, and anyone with any related information is encouraged to contact the Auburn Police Department at (334) 501-3100. Police are requesting that members of the public call in the event of sighting Nichols and to please refrain from initiating contact with him.
